The house is situated in a  small village and there are neighbours and other holiday cottages all around us. We have a strict no noise policy after 10pm

Our house is just 2 miles from the market town of Ashbourne on the edge of The Peak District. Rich in history and with plenty of things to do, Ashbourne is the perfect destination for couples, families and groups looking for adventure! 

Carsington Water

Just 8 miles from our house

Carsington Water is a centre for a variety of outdoor activities and is just 8 miles from our house. There is a sailing club active next door to the Visitor Centre, and it’s a great place for walking and cycling around the reservoir and surrounding villages. 

There is also a water sports centre ( which is separate to the visitor center run by Severn Trent Water. The Water sports centre is a Royal Yachting Association (RYA) recognised training centre and offers a variety of courses in sailing, canoeing, Stand up paddling and windsurfing.


Tissington Trail

 A 13 mile traffic free trail for walkers and cyclists.

Thorpe Cloud & Dovedale Walk

 This short but strenuous walk is for members of the family who have itchy feet and are not content to just picnic by the Dove.


Peak Angling Passport Scheme

 This is the scheme that brings you wild trout fishing on a day ticket in the Peak District. 

Beresford Fishery

The River Dove divides Derbyshire from Staffordshire in this picturesque part of the Peak District.  It has provided wild trout with rich and varied habitat for centuries.
